KWGA provides to the member clubs, at no cost, Slope and Course Ratings in accordance with the USGA Slope and Course Rating system.  KWGA has qualified to rate courses for women as well as men by attending the USGA Calibration Seminar each year and every two years the USGA Course Rating Seminars.

The Slope and Course Rating provides for the golfers accurate information so that each Handicap Index is equitable across the state and throughout the United States.  KWGA rates approximately 20 courses each golf season, both spring and fall.  Two sets of tees are generally rated for the women. At the beginning of each golf season a list of all Slope and Course Ratings is available and distributed at the Spring Directors’ Meeting.

Your club should contact the KWGA Course Rating Chair for information if reconstruction has been scheduled or completed on the course.  The KWGA Course Rating Chair has a ten year schedule and is available to member clubs.
