Junior Associate Membership Form

KWGA provides, at no additional charge to our member clubs, course rating in accordance with the USGA Course Rating System Manual and will compute and print course rating and slope lists each year. KWGA rates courses for primarily women but can, if requested rate courses for men.

KWGA supports junior golf programs for girls which consists of several one day invitationals at different sites in the state and a two day stroke play championship.

KWGA publishes twice each year, spring and fall, the GOLF BAG which is our official publication.

KWGA conduct five championships for individual members throughout the summer and will assist the USGA in sectional qualifying events.

KWGA provides the GHIN Handicap Service, women and men, for our member clubs who wish to contract for this service for a nominal charge.

KWGA will assist our member clubs with information relating to course rating, rules, regional and national championships. KWGA will conduct seminars/workshops on course rating, rules either upon request of a member club or through the Spring and Fall Director's meeting.

KWGA will arrange with the USGA to schedule such seminars/workshops for the benefit of our members.

KWGA provides to our member clubs Low Net Medals and Hole-in-One medals to those who qualify.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership may be extended to any properly organized women’s golf club in Kansas, or any individual woman in Kansas.
I. CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Clubs desiring admission to membership must send a letter
to the KWGA Membership Chairman indicating their wish to join.
Included within the letter must be the name of the course/club,
its address and phone number. Accompany the membership request must be a check of $10.00 for the club dues. All clubs affiliating
with KWGA on or after November 1 shall upon payment of dues
be credited with payment in full for the ensuing year.
II. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP
An individual woman residing in Kansas who desires to become
a member of KWGA and who belongs to a KWGA woman’s golf
club must remit individual membership dues of $10.00. These
dues are given to the individual’s club treasurer who
then submits one check for the total amount from that club.
Such individuals, if otherwise eligible and qualified, may
be admitted to membership by the Membership Chairman and are
entitled to all the right and privileges of KWGA. Her membership
is valid from May 15 of that year to May 14th of the following
year.
III. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
An individual woman residing in Kansas who may or may not
be affiliated with an organized woman’s golf club, may
make written application to the Membership Chairman and remit
annual dues of $20.00 with the application. Included in the
application must be the individual’s name, address and
phone number. Such membership shall be valid from the date
of payment until May 14th of the following year. She shall
be designated as an associate member, and may enjoy all the
right and privileges of KWGA except that of voting or participating
in the KWGA Low Net Award. She may be eligible to play in
KWGA State Tournaments only if handicap requirements are met.
IV. JUNIOR ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
A junior girl as defined by the USGA Rules of Amateur Status may become a member of KWGA by remitting the annual junior associate membership dues to the Membership Chair. She shall be referred to as a KWGA Junior Associate member. The membership shall be in effect from May 1 of the year to April 30 of the following year.
Honorary Membership
Any KWGA member playing golf and actively participating in a KWGA member club may be awarded a KWGA “Honorary Membership” when she reaches the age of 75. Honorary Members are not required to pay KWGA dues. KWGA Honorary Members shall retain KWGA membership until or unless the local association president/chairwoman completes and submits to the KWGA Membership Chair the attached “Change of Membership Status” form.
An “H” beside their name designates KWGA Honorary Members on the KWGA membership roster. If no “H” appears the application form for Honorary Membership has not be filed with the KWGA Membership Chair and Vice President.
PROCEDURE:
Applicants for Honorary Membership should request that their local women’s golf association president/chairwoman complete and submit the attached “Honorary Membership” form. (This form may be duplicated as needed. The KWGA membership chairwoman will forward applications for Honorary Membership to the KWGA Vice President who will issue an Honorary Membership card and official letter of congratulations. Requests for lost or damaged membership cards may be addressed directly to the KWGA Vice President.)
CHANGE OF MEMBERSHIP STATUS
If a KWGA Honorary Member’s status changes, the local association president/ chairwoman shall complete and submit the attached “Change of Membership Status” form. (This form may be duplicated as needed.) Status shall be changed if the Honorary Member is no longer active in the local association or in the event of death. (Deceased KWGA members will be included in the “In Memory” section of the KWGA GOLF BAG.
