2006 Scholarship Winner

Alyssa Rainbolt, Wichita, Kansas is the daughter of Steve and Cyndee Rainbolt. Her handicap is about 4 and she has participated in 5 KWGA events. In 2005 she played in the U.S. Girls Junior qualifier in Boise, Idaho.

Alyssa is a graduate of Andover High school, where she was a Kansas Honor Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society for 2 years. Her GPA is over 3.9 while taking some very demanding classes in the sciences, mathematics, French, advanced acting and broadcast journalism.

One reference indicates "she produces work at an admirably high level and does not shy away from challenges." Another reference views Alyssa as having a mix of "academic intelligence, strong work ethic, an optimistic outlook on life, with compassion and understanding to put others at ease." A third reference indicates she "is reliable and always gives 100%."

Alyssa served as student body president, participated in Thespians all four years, served on the school newspaper staff and as a youth leadership butler. She plans to attend the University of Kansas, where she will also play golf.
